The Angeles
Volunteer Association (AVA) is always looking for new volunteers. Training will be
provided. If you think that you might be interested in participating in our
activities, you are encouraged to attend one of our monthly
meetings. We meet on the third Tuesday of every
month at 7:00 p.m. at the Church of the Brethren in Glendora.
The
church is located at 151 S. Glendora Ave., on the northwest corner of
Glendora Ave. and Carroll Ave. This is one block south of Foothill
Blvd. and directly across the street from the Glendora Police Dept.
Examples of Volunteer Activities:
- Trail Patrol on Foot
- Work at Forest/Monument Visitor Centers
- Trail Maintenance *
- Campground Host
- Outreach Activities at Schools or Community Events
- Hosting School or College Groups Engaged in Service Projects
in the Forest

maintenance, you may also volunteer with the San
Gabriel Mountains Trailbuilders.
Training Provided to Volunteers:
Volunteers receive extensive training that includes:
- Forest Service Policy and Procedure
- Backcountry Skills
- Understanding Natural Resources
- Use of Radio, Maps and Compass

note that the Angeles Volunteer Association is only active in the San Gabriel River Ranger
District. If you are interested in volunteering in other parts of the Angeles National
