Rim of the Valley Corridor

Special Resource Study

The National Park Service is in the initial stages of conducting a “special resource study” of the area known as the "Rim of the Valley Corridor." This is the area that generally includes the mountains encircling the San Fernando, La Crescenta, Santa Clarita, Simi and Conejo Valleys of Los Angeles and Ventura Counties in southern California.

An introduction and overview of the study is provided in the study's newsletter. You may download Newsletter #1 from the NPS web site, www.nps.gov/pwro/rimofthevalley/index.htm, or you may request a printed copy from our office.

As we begin this study, we would like to know more about what you envision for the Rim of the Valley corridor area. The initial comment period for this study has started, and will extend through October 29, 2010.

We hope you’ll take the time to let us know your thoughts and ideas. There will also be other opportunities for public input throughout the study process, as described in the newsletter.
